Our scales were designed and validated only for native English speakers residing in North America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Because there is no validity data for their use in other populations, we cannot grant permission for their use in those contexts.
We cannot give permission for this. The scales are valid and reliable only for English speakers in western countries where English is the native language. Translating the scale, whether verbally or in writing, is a violation of our copyright. Even if we did give permission, there is no evidence that the translated scale would be valid or reliable.
You may NOT photocopy the scales for any purpose whatsoever. If you would like to use our products for your research project, you must buy the scales—one for each study participant. They are sold in pads of 50.
Ask your major professor to write to us from his or her college/university email account (with a .edu domain extension) and confirm you are on the student roster. Requests coming from any public account, such as gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and so forth, will NOT qualify for the 10% student discount.
Present a comprehensive plan for the validation study to Walmyr Publishing Company. If it meets our rigorous scientific standards of excellence, we will enter into a formal agreement with you for the translation and validation study. Walmyr Publishing Company retains the copyright of the translated instrument.
